This is my favorite festival all year. It's also one of Peyton's
favorites too because of all the unusual kids activities. The
year before last they did a fossil dig for the kids with real

The festival in Waverly (just outside of Auburn) is
put on by Standard Deluxe, a very cool screen printing
company. I first found out about them at the Kentuck
festival. They always have tons of great t-shirts and bags
for sale including the annual Boogie shirt. Heres one I
picked up for Matt last year.

The music at the Old 280 Boogie is fantastic.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy!

Refugee Sewing Society

The Refugee Sewing Society is a wonderful ministry in Atlanta, GA where women from many war torn countries such as Sudan, Burma, and Rwanda work creating and selling handmade goods to support their families. If you have purchases any of our pottery pieces, you have seen their handiwork. They created the beautiful little drawstring pouches that our earrings and necklaces come in. To really get an idea of their talent, though, you need to visit their blog and Etsy shop. My favorite of their creations is the Refugee Bag. Very cool!

The Handmade show at Cindy Parker's house in Homewood is this Saturday. Its the first ever Spring show and the weather is going to be perfect! I found all kinds of great vintage knick knacks in Texas so I'll have 30 or so new junque jewelry pieces. These pictures are terrible, but you get the idea. The necklace on the left is one of my favorites. Its an adorable vintage ladies' matchbook case.

One of my best finds in Texas was this set of 11 miniature harmonicas. They are so sweet and they work too! I turned several into necklaces while we were still there and sold them both. I'll be bringing more to Handmade.

And of course I'll be bringing tons of new pottery necklaces and earrings.
